The Residents...

CURRENT LONG TERM RESIDENTS:

• Artnoose: She has been doing her letter-press zine for 13 years, and is working on her first novel. She sets up tons of fun stuff, and kicks ass.
• Brenda Battad: Brenda is a poet and artist. She is the newest long term resident.
• Elwin Cotman: His name means "lover of elves" and that's pretty right on. He writes urban fantacy, and is putting togeather a new anthology to bring on tour.
• Gunner: Gunner is working on Gunner's first long fiction piece, and is directing a cast of non-actors in the production of a famous absurdist play.
• Daniel McCloskey: Writer, illustrator, traveling poster salesman, and freelance parking attendant. Daniel is currently working to polish his first novel--a science fiction drama that uses comic book, and prose pages. He is also involved in a number side-projects including working on the Cyberpunk Apocalypse publications, and creating a post-apocalyptic board game.

SHORT TERM RESIDENTS:

Walker Mettling will be our January visiting writer, Febuary will be Dan Gingold, and Mary Burnet will be here in May. Any other month is still available.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:

There are currently no long-term positions available. Those interested in being a short-term resident should read about our Visiting Writers Program below.

THE VISITING WRITERS PROGRAM:

The Cyberpunk Apocalypse Visiting Writer Program is a one-month residency at the Cyberpunk Apocalypse writers house. The writers will be given a small bedroom at no cost and access to the same communal kitchen, bathroom, living space, etc. that is used by the long-term residents (again at no cost). Visiting writers will, however, be expected to take responsibility for acquiring and preparing their own meals. Applicants should also realize that they will be living communally with the long-term residents of the house and in an urban environment (i.e. not a cabin retreat).

Who should apply:

Anybody with a writing project that they are excited about and that they could complete if they had a month to devote themselves to it. We do ask for projects that will be finished by the end of your stay so that you can do a small presentation of your work just before you leave. This could mean working on a smaller project (such as a zine) or a larger project that just needs to be polished.

How to apply:

Step 1: Check here (link to calendar depicting when is unavailable) and make sure that the month you want to work isn't "booked." Step 2: Query us. Send an e-mail to cyberpunkapocalypse[at]gmail.com with "Visiting Writer" in the subject line. Tell us (briefly) what you plan to work on, the month that you're applying to work, who you are/what you're like (since we'd be living with you if you were accepted), and attach or send links of previous works. It's that simple. Again, keep it succinct--if we have questions, we'll contact you.
